NP lookup Download full documentation
A number portability (NP) lookup returns the network a mobile number currently belongs to: the actual MCC and MNC, also for subscribers who ported their number to another operator. It does not check whether the handset is switched on or reachable; for that, use the HLR lookup. An NP lookup is cheaper than an HLR lookup and is the right choice for routing, cleaning lists and detecting ported numbers.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| username | BudgetSMS username | Alphanumeric | Yes | user1 |
| userid | BudgetSMS userid | Numeric | Yes | 21547 |

NP response
A successful lookup returns one line:
OK 204 08 0.0450
OK, followed by the MCC (mobile country code) and MNC (mobile network code) of the network the subscriber is
currently on, and the price of one SMS to that network for your account. The lookup is charged at your NP price per request.
NP results are kept for 30 days: a number we looked up within the last 30 days is answered from our cache.
Errors are returned as ERR <code>, for example ERR 1001 (insufficient credit),
ERR 1002 (wrong credentials), ERR 3001 (number not recognised) or ERR 4003
(lookup failed at our provider, nothing is charged). See the error code list.
More information on NP parameter "to"
This parameter will hold the subscriber number that needs to be checked. It should be in the correct format, otherwise it will not work.
The parameter should only contain numbers, no spaces or other characters (like '+', '-', '(' or ')').
The country prefix should be included and the trailing local 0 should be omitted.
So mobile number 06-12345678 from The Netherlands (country prefix +31) will become: 31612345678
